Funny when he said “she’ll be yours forever..and ever...and ever...” He’s talking about 3 things in this. The dragon horn, his wife, and the witch. Clever

The way Beowulf slightly cuts his eyes and gently turns his gaze towards Hrothgar at 0:23 is so subtle, yet very effective in that he’s so taken by Wealthow’s beauty that he looks as if he could care less about what the king has to say to him. Beowulf is the apex Geat warrior who has seen and dealt his fair share of brutality and this brief particular instance is very telling of how there is indeed a heart beneath his barbaric exterior. I truly love this small detail in this wonderful movie!

the king was probably a very skill warrior himself for killing the dragon but beowulf had very difficult odds as he had to fight a half dragon half demon, and beowulf had to do it at an older age

For me, this movie was at the pinnacle of animation. Then, for some reason, Robert Zemekis didn't really render the animation for Disney's A Christmas Carol and it looked really incomplete at many points, almost as though it was still in production. But this, I mean, just wow. The movie is insanely beautiful in so many ways, and I can't help but stare at it in awe of just how beautiful it is. Ray Winston made such a great Beowulf and he was believable and frightening in so many ways, and then Anthony Hopkins made such an interesting king Hrothgar that it almost felt like he took most of the work that he did with this role and transferred it to his role as Odin in Thor. A combination and a soft demeanor with an almost terrifying power hidden underneath just waiting to explode at any moment.

Hrothgar that sly bastard, "She'll be yours forever and ever." Wonder if he was talking about Grendel's Mom...Hrothgar is the real villain in this movie.
