We, who belong to the Church, are the living parts or members of Christ's body. "Christ is the head of the Church and saves the whole body" (Eph 5:23). Just as Christ is the vine, He is the head of His body, giving life to the members and bringing about their salvation. Paul uses the analogy of the human body in showing that all parts must cooperate for the good of the Church: "Not you together are Christ's body; but each of you is a different part of it" (I Cor 12:27)

Whenever I teach about what the Church is (I'm a Religion teacher), I always put "C H _ _ C H" on the board and ask my students, "What is the Church?". All they have to do is fill in the blanks to give the right answer ("U R" - "You are").

1. Unlike many fundamentalist versions of Christianity, Catholicism teaches that there is no conflict between faith and science when it comes to evolution. There are whole books dedicated to the synthesis of the two. In fact, the originator of the Big Bang theory was a Catholic priest! (Fr. Georges Lemaître) 2. If you really want to dialogue you need to share your belief system, too. The ol' "point, shoot, and run away" game that many folks play is annoying and a waste of time.

Did you know that there are over 10, 000 pastors in this world who aren't even "Christians"? There are many aethists who become pastors because for them the job may be easier to get, in a world like ours oppressed with recessions and unemployment.

In my personal history, I've met 5 professors in theology who did not even believe in what they were teaching. There have been many evangelists/pastors who have brought many thousands to believe, yet they don't believe what they preach themselves.
