2 Years of Doing Tib Raises

How I fixed my shin splints and train tibs:

- 1-2x per week
- 3-5 sets of 15+ reps, using long rest pauses if needed (see previous post for more info)
- Aim for pain free 10/10 muscle burn and control
- Use a kettlebell (right clip), dumbbell + strap (left clip), or any tib training device

It’s that simple and compounds for the longer you do it. If you’re tight on time, try training tibs as a superset after a different exercise. Bob Gajda, one original Mr. Universes in the 1960s, popularized this style of training and had some massive tibs himself. Thank you

The biggest benefit I noticed from this exercise was my ability to stop, cut and continue in a different direction. When I was younger I always had poor footwork and couldn’t cut fast at all, only way I could get open was on go routes. After a few months of doing tibia curls with resistance bands all of a sudden people were literally eating dirt trying to cover me and one guy tore his hamstring. Not only does it makes your calves look more jacked overall, it’s essential if you want to be an athlete.

Working as a mail carrier gave me CRAZY leg muscles

Training your calves without shins is like training your chest without back. Never skip tib day

The burning sensation you get from these is the same burning sensation you get when you’ve been running awhile

That’s probably the most over looked and underrated exercise everyone should do

The tibialis anterior muscle is the MOST important synergist in your lower leg.

With a weakened tib, you can experience drop foot, athletes roll their ankles because their heel slips, etc

With a tightened tib, you’ll be unable to get sufficient dorsiflexion (toes to shins) and as a result your gait amongst other functional patterns will be compromised as well.

Just a tip. If it’s too tight, roll it out and stretch.

If it’s weak, do what he’s doing🔥

Working cattle has turned me into a stump at any tug-o-war competition I’ve ever been in. I’m no anchor. I AM THE TUG BOAT!

it's one of the three muscles that don't get trained enough. The rotor cuff and wrist muscles are the other two.

Reverse calf raises are also good.
Also rocking from toe to heel and raising the toes also helped me.

Thanks for the caption! I was about to comment about people who've had shin splints from not stretching or warming up.

I realized that no one ever trains that muscle but I thought it should give your legs more definiton so I've been training them at my gym with 15 lbs kettlebells when I have time.

I been doing the kettlebell tib raise for a year now and I’m 49 years old. I could not get my calves to grow beyond 15.25 inch until I started tib raise. I got to the point where I was doing 100 reps with a 15 lb bell and as of today my calves are 16.5 with some nice veins running up my legs..

I'm convinced that I am the only one at the gym training tibialis anterior. I've NEVER seen anyone doing this except for me 😂
