Amen brother Sean! Prayer works. In getting caught up on current events I got caught up in politics, and so anger and even angry words and even villifying others. I got convicted by listening to yours, and others, ability to disagree more constructively. I started praying for people I started seeing as enemies, even in positions of public service. It was hard at first but since I have become less and less angry. I'm better able to watch what I say. To edit. To choose words more and more carefully. Things arnt perfect but are vastly improving. The prayer is the main thing. Also watching less politically charged content. Also, good examples like yourself, being so reasonable, patient, and compassionate. The Lord is merciful. He will help us change if we seek change. Also just doing what He instructs like praying for our leaders always helps. I feel much better being less and less angry all the time. I'm just no good at being angry. Much love.

I'm not Christian but I think this is something that should be said as it seems a lot of Christians use their faith as a way of harming those who don't believe.

If you want to someone to convert this is how you do it, be kind when discussing it don't angrily attack those who disagree or bring it up when it isn't relevant.

Great points, Sean. I'd be really interested if you could do a talk/discussion on what forgiveness actually is, though. I think many Christians have a completely incorrect understanding of it. For example, there are lots of people who are in dysfunctional relationships and believe - and are often told by more mature Christians - that forgiveness means that we simply put the injury or bad behaviour behind us, and move on with the person concerned. I don't think that's Biblical.

Think of all the prayers that have been prayed. Millions upon millions of them. Now, look at the nature of our world. Would you say that these prayers are being heard and answered based upon the deprivation, starvation and general hate that fills this world of ours?

What's funny about forgiveness is that god asks us to forgive without condition while he wasn't willing to forgive us without condition. That's why he needed to send his son to die for us. He wasn't willing to forgive us without a sacrifice...
