Its pretty easy to remove and clean the filters. Much better to do that and let them soak in an acid solution for some time. Citric acid or vinegar is fine but I'd probably only soak the steel filters in acid and soak the foam one in warm water.

Maybe you can help me with my issue? My foam cannon seems to not foam
anymore. Its just water an soap. Would cleaning it like this make it
foam again?

I just leave my unused mix in there from last time and it doesn't dry out
