You don’t have to completely take the bumper off or wheels off. You just turn the wheels side to side to get the screws in the fender well then take out the top screws from the bumper and let it hang down on the ground. From there you can access the entire headlight assembly. Save you about 30 min

You don't have to remove the engine?

Why did the wheels have to be removed? Seemed like you still had lots of room

I was going to just buy new headlight assemblies instead of using the Sylvania Restoration Kit for fogged lights. After watching this video, I'm definitely not doing all that work to replace the headlight assemblies. Restoration Kit it is. Thanks for a good video, though.

You tooks the lamps out by turning them to the left not right, or counter clockwise. Good video over all.

Thanks for the video. This helped me with the process. My 2009 Camry with 370k; the center bolt stripped in half when I used the 10mm socket and ratchet on it and the bottom half is still stuck. My two screws on the side with the rubber covers would not come out with my Phillips head screw driver, actually my screw driver broke when trying to turn them. WD-40 did not help at first. I was about to try a 15mm round off socket but my neighbor was able to get them turning with some vice grips.

You don't have to take the bumper off. It took me 1.25 hours because I just took the top bumper screws out along with the plastic pins and screws ( one pin and one screw each side ) infront of the wheels. Use a 1/4 drive socket with a swivel 10mm socket to get the bottom headlight screw out. You can gently pull the bumper out or up to get the assemblies out. Leave the tires and bottom bumper screws on. I only removed 15 screws or plastic pins total.

Good video some thing where cross threaded when putting it back and some alignments looks off showing dirt and debris.

Wow! That's a lot of work! I removed the front bumper entirely to replace the cracked front grille and didn't have to take the wheels off or jack up the car. Waiting on the new lights to be delivered so going to repeat the process although not looking forward to it.

Edit after replacing bumper and headlights, you absolutely don’t need to take off the wheels. Don’t even need to jack up the car

you dont have to take the wheels off. I did both of my headlights in about 45 mins at my job with no jacks, just an electric ratchet. Just need to think it through a little to make it easier on yourself. Really not that much of a hassle.

The internal silvering on the reflector falls off over time, remove bulb on low beam, rub inside of reflector and if silver comes off on your finger you do have to replace the assembly, cleaning the external housing won't help, that's why there are so many videos on how to do this job. Good luck

Anyone have any reason why car manufacturers make something like replacing a lightbulb so difficult?

Can I follow this for a 2012 Lexus ES 350? Since they are similar vehicles.
