This was wrong and uncomfortable from the first sentence, “You look remarkably well!” What a backhanded compliment. This is so distasteful. She handled it really well.

She was so nice about the whole thing. Hollywood RUINS people and this girl has been in the spotlight since she was a child. She has issues and going to rehab is no joke. So proud of her for working on herself. This interview was just rude and disrespectful

I thought she did a great job, she managed to deflect most of his jokes with humor where most people would have lost their temper.

Wow. Lindsay is the poised & mature one here. Dave is despicable for how he treated her.

she's literally holding her own hand through this interview. she dealt with the ambush so well, it was tasteless.

This interview hurt my heart. Nobody deserves to sit through an interview like this. Everyone has their struggles and he had no right to do this.

́Come on - be a father figure! ́ is so brilliant because she is so eloquent, charming and yet forcefully reminded us and him that he always brings up a topic that makes her vulnerable. And that as a host he has the obligation to show respect and responsibility. I doesn't know much about Lindsay Lohan, but this video shows her humanity. I think her reaction was the best she could bring.

Yes, this may be the first time I’ve seen Lindsay appearing like a grown up. She handled herself amazingly well, and I kind of want to cry when I think of how she must have felt sitting through this. It really does appear to be an ambush given what she said about the pre interview.

So unbelievably uncomfortable. She really held her own even though he was being obnoxious.

He's always mean to women. Like Madonna and Farah fawcett. He sees their vulnerability and goes for below the belt. It's shameful for a grown old man to behave this way. He's a rude jerk

Wow, so unprofessional on his part. It was mature of her to correct him and be forthright with quick retorts. Good display of confidence, grace, and self-respect, Lindsay.

Wow he was pretty disgusting in this interview. She handled herself so well imo. She took time between answering to really stop herself from reacting and answer thoughtfully. Not that she SHOULD have had to mute her reactions, but because we all know that's what he was trying to do- get a reaction out of her to show how "volatile" she is and how "awful" she is for needing rehab 🙄

I think what’s disgusting and irredeemable is when she’s talking about how she doesn’t want to make light of addiction and recovery and his comment is “we didn’t think we would ever see you again!” It was obvious to me that he meant he thought she was going to die from her struggles and had to scramble to save himself. That comment hurt me deeply on her behalf

This lady handled herself like a total pro. Personally I would have found it difficult not to walk out of the interview in her situation. But instead she remained dignified and in control, just deflecting his jabs and taking back the reins. I wish her health and happiness.

My first impression: I have some incredible respect for her after seeing that. I’ve never seen it before, but he was absolutely ruthless and kind of making fun of her addiction. She handled it so well. I think she gained a lot of confidence being around that crowd. She keeps looking out at them whenever he does something insulting as if to connect with them like, “Can you believe this guy?” And then the audience will laugh and it gives her the confidence to say how she feels in a lighthearted way.

These past two videos have really shown me that there must be something about "celebrity status" that makes people and interviewers feel like they can treat them less respectfully and less humanely than they would the average person on the street. It's actually quite disgusting. The media needs to be held more accountable for their words and actions

I am not a LL fan but this makes me sad for her. They are making a joke of her struggles. Her lips pinching together says she was trying to hold back. Kudos to her for being the bigger person. Then trying to shut him down. I also noticed she was very rigid throughout the interview. It makes me think of her expecting for Letterman to basically attack her. It is weird that the audience is laughing or clapping at inappropriate times. They must be going off cue cards???

I hate what he does at the end: he compliments her for taking his abuse and then offers her a hug. It's so manipulative! This is what abusers do: They break you down / prey on your vulnerabilities (make you feel vulnerable) and then build you back up again / come in to save you (from the pain THEY caused you!). If your partner does this to you, please get out of the relationship. It's a very important red flag, and you can't afford to miss it. Seriously, get out.

I must say, I'm proud of her. I can't say I follow her but remember when she was always the topic on the crap shock tv shows. It's easy to see she has a lot of good foundation traits. Personally I feel she must of been figuring out some life issues the wrong way, and addiction is a hard thing to beat. She found a thread in an unraveling interview to hold on and control. Given what she was handed, she did very well. I respect her more then ever.

I really love how she handled herself! Didn’t just roll with the jokes at her expense and kept it very calm and stern
