The increasing number of mass shootings at K-12 schools in the U.S. is putting a heavy strain on teachers, who are now being tasked with not only teaching their students, but also protecting them in an active shooter situation. Sarah Lerner, a teacher and survivor of the 2018 shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, joins News NOW to share what is now expected of teachers across the country and whether arming teachers could prevent further school shootings.

If anyone really cares they should focus their attention on Mental health! School Counselors are the bridge for this to work but instead they are used for scheduling, testing and monitoring school lunches They should be utilized like a school nurse. You don’t see the school nurse doing those type of things why??!! Because that’s not her job….!

If counselors were used the right way they would help stop some of these tragedies not only be used for support afterwards!!!

If you could teleport to one of those teachers side shortly after the chaos began and offered them a pistol, would they have taken it or said:

"No! I am an educator, not a police officer!"

We need to have armed experienced security people with training for "ALL" Schools!
We need to have only one entrance to a campus.
We need to have metal detectors at all schools like we have
in airports.

If it good enough for Airports its good enough for our schools!
