Witnesses capture video, photos of moment boat runs ashore in Atlantic Beach

It was a scary moment for those who witnessed a boat run ashore in Atlantic Beach on Saturday. Courtney Cortright has more on this.

This is a classic example of how terrible journalism has become. I watched the video and know nothing pertinent about what actually happened.

They said that the seven people on board were, the skipper, the first mate, a millionaire and his wife, a professor, a movie star and a farm girl from Kansas.
They were out for a three hour tour .

Ugh, why report on a situation when you have nothing to report. Cell phone footage is not news! So much could have been going on here. They could have been taking on water, medical emergency, motor overheating etc.

Two people from the boat were taken to the hospital, so clearly they needed help fast?

In 79 or so, I was on a friends fishing boat returning to Port of Brookings, Ore. A friends boat was ahead of us. Suddenly the skipper disappeared from the fly bridge and the boat turned towards the jetty. My friend hit the horns. A hand came up and pulled her into astern. Boat stopped just before it hit the jetty but started for the other side in reverse. More horns. A head came up, looked around and put her in forward and spun the wheel. A few seconds later he was back up driving. When we got tied up, we asked WTF??? He told us that his female deck hand was kneeling behind the helm and had his pants around his ankles. They hit a wave, she fell thru his britches and he fell over her. Laughed and said there was some frantic thrashing to get untangled. Wonder if something like this was the cause of this beaching.

If there is video of the boat 🛥️ actually hitting the shore, there has got to be video of the SEVEN people getting off the boat. 🤬 WTF, just tell the whole F;ing story.

The fastest way to the hospital is getting on shore. Family member was having a medical emergency that's probably why they ran it aground

Evidently it never occurred to these intrepid reporters to walk up to the side of the beached vessel and simply ask, "What happened?"

I heard on the radio that the captain had it set on auto pilot and was watching videos on his phone 🤷‍♂
