The reason that obsidian is not that sharp is because it is serrated but if get a piece of obsidian that is clearly broken off you could cut through a piece of leather like you were cutting paper with one of your sharpened knives

No offence but there is a difference between sharpening knives and sharpening stone
Metal you grind it, obsidian (rocks in general) you chip them

The actual sharpest obsidian is a freshly knapped piece. I would bet that if you were to break off a piece of that knife, the shard would have a sharp side that could get a 0 or very close.

obsidian is a glass, it creates a perfect sharp edge whenever pieces are broken off of it. it’s not intended to be shaved down.
