When he lost his job but I still had mine, he jumped in and did housework, took care of the kids, and I had a meal ready for me when I came home. There is a lot of truth to this. I have had dudes that are insecure about my career and I have had dudes that expect me to be their sugar mama, so they can be irresponsible. There are a few that just see you as a partner and aren't intimidated or exploiting. They are pure gold.

That's weird I was happy my wife was making more than me because she was doing what she loved. But the moment she did she left. Happened to a friend of mine too. Sincerely supported our spouses. Then boom.

There's no winning for women. I've dealt with both the promotion resentment and before guys who were embarrassed introducing me when I was a still a bartender after college. Before corporate success I was a nanny for years that only worked with infants and toddlers and built a great reputation that had pregnant women getting on my waitlist and my rates skyrocketing with each new client. I don't know how many times on a first date I was asked what I really wanted to be besides "just a" nanny even though I was easily making double their wage spending my days in the sunshine at parks and the zoo while they sat in their cubicle. The ones who asked me that after recounting the love they received from their own nanny in childhood were particularly dense.

If my wife started making more than me, I would either invest the money in starting new ventures to grow our wealth, or work in some sort of support capacity in her business to compound on her success. It’s a win, any way you slice it. The important thing is for the kids to have consistent access to both their parents. So I would focus on running the business from home, so that the work-life balance will just be a life-life balance.
