I have a similar relationship with murder mystery books. The only ones that made it to my favourite list are A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and the 7 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

The Thursday Murder Club is absolutely amazing, and *very* British - if you're reading it, I highly recommend the audiobook ♥

The Thursday Murder Club and it's sequel are super cute but I consider them more mystery than thriller. This is probably why they worked for me because I have been having a hard time enjoying thrillers lately. I really enjoyed The Push. It worked as a horror for me. I just remember that time after my son was born how hard it was and how depressed and tired I was and I felt for the main character. It just clicked for me. I couldn't put it down.

What are your favorite mystery/thriller books from this list?

I actually really liked the maid. Not for the mystery aspect but the character is good. She is on the spectrum and you get her point of view and how she interpret people behaviors. I would say give it a chance. It is at least different.

I'm 19 books into the Jack Reacher series. If you want to give it a shot (pun intended) Start with "Killing Floor." They are kinda just shoot em' up action movies. My favorites were "Persuader" and "Tripwire". I'm only about 60% sure I'm going to continue the series bc they do get repetitive and at this point he's pretty much just a superhero. There are a few ultrabadass women but they don't show up much. Hope this was helpfull.

I am a big fan of 'The Silent Patient' However it is refreshing to see mixed honest reviews. I like that she is so opinionated. So if she l Ikes a book it is probably pretty good.

I’m not really into contemporary mystery/thrillers, but I know my mom loves John Grisham books. Couldn’t tell you why, though lol.

This is my first video of yours I've watched, and as I was scrolling through goodreads and watching your video I found a review you left! What a cute coincidence ♡ I'll have to check out your recommendations

I would love to see what mystery/thrillers you do recommend!

Oh also, for those of you who really just hate majority of these books, I've found that the genre just may not be your thing lol I tried for years to get into thriller/horror/mystery and similar to this video, I was pretty cynical about most of them. I mean, it's subjective of course! But I started getting into more cozy thrillers and I just enjoy the books so much more.

Yay! I’ve been waiting for this one. We have such similar taste and judgment esp when it comes to mystery/thrillers. Glad I can pass on so much junk books 😬

The maid is really good i hope you change your mind about reading it! The audiobook is especially good. Representation for neurodivergence without pointing out that the character is "different" is why I think it's a must read.

Aaaa yes Razorblade Tears. I would have never picked it up if it wasn't in the goodreads top 10 and it's a top 5 read out of almost 450 books I've read so far. It is so good and I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on it

I really liked “The Push” as well—quite a surprise!

Highly recommend the Tuesday Murder Club books. They’re so fun. Also Razorblade Tears was amazing. Very upsetting in some parts but really great writing.
