I want to get into fans being mad that Jung Kook might have reacted to Jikook. And then we need to talk about many fanfics possibly deleted. Let’s be honest, every shipper needs to grow up. The whole Jikook Vs. Taekook needs to stop, I think it’s very immature on both ends for ‘fans’ to speculate on such tiny things with literally no evidence. Until these GROWN MEN come out & verbally say they’re gay or whatever else THEN can we be happy with their choice. I’m not saying they’re straight I’m not saying they’re anything, but if you ship them as friends or brothers it’s fine. Anything romantically is delusional, I understand the shipping is extremely popular in the k pop industry but I see on a daily basis shippers calling everyone who doesn’t believe in their ‘romantic’ relationship delusional or homophobic. We are neither.

Jungkook confirmed that there is a travel show that both JImin and Jungkook filmed and will be released. He did not say when, but did hint that something was coming in about 6 months and to look for it. So maybe that will be it.

Years ago Super Junior actually wrote and produced their own "mini dramas" which were like live action fan fiction and quite explicit in the sense that they contained romantic and not just platonic relationships. It was always made clear though that these were fictional even when they were playing "themselves". And of course they are known for their fan service in other forms, such as flirting and even wedding ceremonies at concerts. Many other groups, such as EXO and SHINee, did similar stuff (albeit not with quite the same frequency and intensity). This may not be quite as fashionable anymore, but the industry as a whole and hence also BTS are fully aware of it, so what they do has to be understood in that context. Some newer groups seem to be bringing more of this back, with some now even hinting that it is real, like OnlyOneOf. So it's no wonder if audiences are confused.

Shipping used to be harmless fun when it was fictional, even in the case of real people, and didn't involve speculation about their real sexuality. But it's true that the companies and idols encourage it, so it's wrong to blame only the shippers. It is encouraged even in a homophobic country like SK because it's targeted to women and like BL mangas/manhwas it's like a fantasy genre. It's mostly westerners who make it into a political statement. Like it or not, that's not how it was intended, so most of the discussions about it are futile. It's not fetishisation of gay men either, because it's not about gay men. The gender and sexual dynamics are completely unrealistic, if anything despite the explicit or implied physical acts between men the psychology is more related to women and their position in a patriarchal society. One could see it as a sexual kink of its own that is harmless and deserves as much tolerance as any other.

Mind you I'm not talking about people who insist that their ships are real - they may or may not be right, but in the homophobic society that these idols are from they can't come out. But the Kpop industry even profits from this kind of "scandalous" attention, so they are not going to do anything about it, and in a democratic society with free speech there are also limits to what can be done, and rightly so. China cracked down on it, but that led to an actor being cancelled for a year and entire platforms where the LGBT community was active getting banned, which I'm sure most critics of shippers wouldn't want. The genius of Kpop is that it leaves everything just ambiguous enough, so that everyone can interpret things as they want - some see it just as very affectionate friendship (due to the social practice of "skinship" between men in SK), some as romantic. And I think it would be best left at that.

In sum, I appreciate the well meaning intentions both on the side for and against shipping, but the discussion lacks nuance regarding cultural and individual differences. Free speech and tolerance are valuable things, so if you don't like something, as long as it's harmless, do unto others as you would want them to do unto you: just politely ignore it.

Dave, I don’t understand why you post these sensationalized false stories that are always sexual in nature. Then you don’t do the research to even properly talk about the subject. You are full of innuendo and personal opinion that are either factually wrong or complete fantasy. Regarding the travel show, Jk discussed it on his appearance on the 2nd Suchwita show he was on. He said in the past Jimin suggested they do a travel show and he agreed. However the timing never worked out. Jimin went to NY to support him on his release of Seven. Jk said then the company suddenly decided to film a travel show while they were there camping. JK said it was chaotic. Jimin called Suga to tell him he was going to NY to have a drink with JK. The next day they both called Suga and said they were going camping. Sounds like the travel show was last minute as JK said and both JK and Jimin were told (and they agreed) to do it. They also filmed part of their travel show in Japan. It will be released sometime this year. JK also talked about a documentary they filmed for the process and release of his album.

What is crazy about you is you state this travel show is most likely made up by shippers, when it is fact true and discussed on a show. You don’t even have to watch the episode as there are 100’s if not 1000’s of clips of that conversation on YT, TT, IG and Twitter. Yet you state as facts that JK is upset about fanfic stories made up about him. Then you clarify most likely upset. But you don’t know, nor has JK said anything.

Your channel used to be pretty good what great information. Now, because there is little fresh content due to their enlistment, you have gone down the road of smut and supporting the Taekookers ship while trying to debunk Jikookers. How about just posting about all the members or positive stories about them individually that have nothing to do about their sexuality or dating lives? There is so much positive content you can talk about that will grow your channel.

Dave there is supposed to be a Jikook traveling show, Yoongi asked JK about it on his show & JK said JM asked him if he would be interested in doing something of the sort & JK said he would but said nothing came out of it but when JK was in NY promoting his album JM & staff showed up surprisingly & their were pics of them wearing cameras & had staff around, after JK was done with his album promotion & bk to Korea after a few days both JK & JM left with cameras in their hands & traveled to Japan as one place for sure, this was done just before enlisting so yes there is some sort of travel show to be released just don’t know when but most likely while they are in the military
