Ella Purnell Interview: Arcane League of Legends

Arcane League of Legends star Ella Purnell discusses playing Jinx in the Netflix animated series, the challenges of her first voiceover performance, and more!

Arcane dives into the delicate balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun. Tensions between these city-states boil over with the creation of hextech — a way for any person to control magical energy - in Piltover; and in Zaun, a new drug called shimmer transforms humans into monsters. The rivalry between the cities splits families and friends as Arcane brings life to the relationships that shape some of League of Legends' famous champions including Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Jayce, and Viktor.

Arcane premieres on Netflix November 6th at 7PM PT.

Your voice, picking me up, pushing me. When all the colours were black, you're the reason i'm still alive." It's SO well delivered i'm just amazed.

Her performance as Jinx was absolutely phenomenal, I don't even have enough words to express it. It's not easy voicing a character that teeters between sanity and insanity and make it feel so real, grounded, and heartwrenching. What's crazy to think about is that she probably went into this little animated show to do a voiceover job and be done with it, as many actors do, like just another gig. Who would've thunk that the show would end up being one of the best animated series to ever come out? That it would be a god tier masterpiece hailed by everyone who sees it?? Not her, or anyone involved for that matter. It's so crazy.

Fabulous job, one of the most likable animated characters there's ever been... And she's supposed to be the VILLAIN!
