We're in ne Pennsylvania and it's horrible here. Worse than yesterday.... smell is awful. And no rain in almost 3 weeks.

Last week here in Canada it looked the same but smokey soot and red embers were falling from the sky . I live an hour away from a 2500 acre fire. Hundreds more fires across the country

I finally installed a drip system for our garden in the last couple of weeks. A total game changer for conserving water costs, and more importantly for us a huge time saver. My wife was spending an hour or more nearly every night watering everything with a hose.
We have 5 zones so far setup on a timer that is connected to a phone app.
I would highly recommend it.

Near Baltimore, MD and we're having the same issues. You can smell the fire and haze is thick

Same here in Northern PA. We have family and friends in central and northern NY. The air quality was horrible and into the 300s and 400s. There was a weird, eerie yellow haze too on Wednesday. It looked like something from a movie where the world is about to end. Better today, finally got some rain in over 3 weeks and even a peak of some normalish sun and not the weird red sun. Fingers crossed things will turn around.

Mark I’m in central KY and on Monday you could see it and smell it. Today, Wednesday we had a good rain, that we needed. This helped to clear the air. Watching my garden everyday and so far it’s doing well. Tuesday we picked 2 gallons of blueberries, didn’t make a dent in them, this is the earliest we’ve had them ready. Good luck to all the gardeners, We the People will need them.

Here in Antigua it is hot, dry & hazy. The UV index is off the charts. We are experiencing a severe drought along with Sahara dust. Very bad combo for ppl with respiratory issues. My garden is currently struggling.

I’m in Maryland and we had a sonic boom from some military aircraft (questionable scenario) 3 days ago. Now smokey haze, red suns and I’m coughing and sneezing 🤧 😂

In NYC it's not that bad, it looks worse than it is and people are overly dramatic. There's no forest here and the smoke is not as dense as people claim. When the Everglades burn in Miami there's low level dense smog and you can't even see you're hand in front of your face and the air is extremely heavy because of the heat. Feel more bad for people in Canada.

Outside of Albany, NY and the temps last night got down to 37 degrees last night. Tonight will be the same. No sun rays from the smoke = cold temps :( My poor baby plants. Ugh.

There are very good free websites available for immediate an long range weather forecasting available for gardeners & farmers. With 200+ wildfires burning across Canada, a basic understanding of drought, wind & weather patterns is helpful. The US drought & related fire season is just getting started. Canada is simply ahead of the US at this point in time.

You can say that again…I’m in NW Nj …it was like Armageddon earlier this afternoon …. Or at the very least a Solar Eclipse …it’s supposed to clear up in the next or so…so I hear….I just keep thinking, if it is this bad here, can you imagine what it was like to be in Canada? Hope all fares well.
