Understanding Forces and Motion

First of all here is the Pre-test, let me know what you already know about the forces.

Forces and motion are understood via a set of three laws called the Newton's laws of motion. This particular topic is introduced in high school usually in 9th or 10th grade. It seems to be fairly "simple" to understand. But make no mistakes. From my 5+ experience of teaching, what I have noticed is that, not only students, but even teachers fail to truly understand the connection between Forces and motion.
Why ? Well, The answer is given by this famous Youtuber who runs his channel by the name Veritasium. You should check it out

He clearly mentions that the key to teaching and learning physics is by starting with misconceptions. There are lots and lots of misconceptions out there. A lot about forces, velocities and acceleration.

The biggest mis conception would be that
FORCES MAKE THINGS MOVE

I am pretty sure, that seems very reasonable, but it is not. It is 100% wrong. So I decided to give you a clear understanding of the Newton's laws by first beginning with the common misconceptions.

On the survey, I found huge number of people who also have the same misconception. It is time we eradicated all this. So here I teach you Newton's laws, but i begin with the most common mis conception that we have built into our brains. Lets first understand how the universe DOESN'T work shall we?

So what are you waiting for? It is time to learn Newton's laws THE RIGHT WAY. We will build up to these laws, very intuitively, and by rational thinking!

Thank you for reading.

Key to understanding forces and Newton's laws is to understand acceleration. Do you think you know what acceleration is? If you do, check whether you have a common misconception which I find with many people. Click here to learn about a common misconception about acceleration

There is a pre-test here as well, but I forgot to mention that in the video. Please take the pre-test and then check how much did you get right.

Thank you for reading, have a good one

Loved it. U r an excellent teacher. Can u plz do a video on PHASE DIFFERENCE- I mean everything about it...such as which one is leading or which one is lagging in displacement-time graph and displacement-distance graph. Thank u.

I'm studying learning sciences and I'm very interested in what you're doing here. Many thanks for your efforts. Would you kindly add a URL to the next video we should watch? Sorry if I missed this if already mentioned. Many thanks once more for the great work here!
