What works so well about the use of this song in the movie is how despite the fact that the guardians have all gone on all these missions together helping a lot of people, like in the song, they feel they don’t belong there and hate themselves. It’s like when Mantis said that Drax was the only one who doesn’t hate themself

This was a strange way to start the movie, but it accomplished exactly what it was trying to accomplish with all of the characters, but most importantly Rocket and Quill, and I wouldn't change it for any other way.
