I love going out for a walk to decrease anxiety. One important thing to look out for is not walking in a busy street. Last week I did that and had a big anxiety peak.

Exercise is really great when you're anxious, it even fights off the symptoms of anxiety for up to a few hours after doing it. Something I learnt from therapy, and it's really effective.

OMG!!! I finally understand why I sometimes stare into the distance for many seconds (and everyone is freaked out by it). My nervous system is trying to calm itself down.

Also something that I find really helps is using the 5 senses to calm yourself down
For example: dunking your face in ice water, lighting a scented candle, listen to calming music, take a hot shower/bath, eat something comforting (but not in excess), watching something with cool visuals, etc. and really focus on perceiving that sense you're exposing yourself to.
