Picked up the same bike a week ago, traded my KTM 790 Adventure which I'd had for 4 months and it spent longer in the dealer than it did with me..The Tenere is awesome

10 Year Warranty..
I was told at my dealer the oil warranty only covers failures that can be related to lubrication issues. It does not cover any mechanical issues or failures due to manufacturing, defects or normal wear.

I watched these Yamaha Tenere racing in the Paris Dakar Rally as they came through Tamanresset Algeria in 1987..so they are a very proven model ..I would have got one had it been available for my last trip 2018 through Borneo and south east asia..great looking bike ..love the colour..

The “yamalube advantage” 10 year or 100, 000 mile warranty. Worked at a yamaha dealer. It’s legit and totally worth checking out. Yamalube is really good oil (from California)

Yamalube warranty exists in the USA, I have registered my Yamaha's for it with each first service. It was good for 10 years and 100k miles. I'm sure there are probably limitations, but regardless it's confidence inspiring.

FYI, that warranty doesn’t apply in the US because the Magnusson-Moss Act says they can’t force you to use their oil! Therefore they can’t offer a longer warranty to those that use their oil!

Congrats, it's finally here! Mine is same color and ordered with the Rally package, which I am happy with! Just hit the 900 mile mark today, so almost 'broke in!. Got a late start due to a broken leg so getting it broke in was the main goal for this season, bit of adventure touring next year! My experience says that dropping the tire pressure even 5 pounds makes a huge difference in the enjoyment of riding gravel and two-track! Again, congrats, and ride safe...looking forward to the coming videos!

About the HD, I'm mostly with you. It's the only traditionally powered HD that I would by, besides the V-Rod. But the engine was so hot when I test ride it that I thought my leg was touching something that it wasn't supposed to touch (the sales guy told me that it was the oil reservoir, but it wouldn't be a problem if I was a reeeeal man - so I left the store and bought a BMW R1200R. I can't figure out HD sales strategies and tactics).

The upper chain guard is pretty, but kind of unnecessary for offroading. The lower chain GUIDE is what is useful for offroading; mine is on order directly from Yamaha. I just did the first service at the dealer after getting the bike a week ago. I won't get into what happened with the dealer I ordered from in February; I'm just glad I figured out what they were doing (or really, didn't do) and was able to find the one I wanted at a dealer in the Toronto area. The bike is evrything I was hoping for and then some. It's amazing how the bike's power characteristics have evolved as it has broken in! You are going to love this!
