15 Best Movie Crossovers Ever

Everyone loves a good movie crossover nowadays. Looking ahead a bit, we know that we’ll likely see all of the live action Spider-Men teaming up, as many Batmen as The Flash can fit in and possibly every franchise Warner Bros. has in Space Jam: A New Legacy. I think it’s safe to say that we live in a golden age of big budget shared universes or giant crossovers. That being said, it wasn’t always that way. Long before Marvel perfected the crossover formula with 2012’s effortless franchise uniter The Avengers, crossover films were pretty rare. So let’s look back at some of the greatest crossovers we’ve seen over the years.

The most common of these types of movies are the big “versus” films where we pit the biggest movie characters ever made square off against each other in a giant cage match for our amusement. We’ve seen Batman take down Superman, King Kong punch Godzilla in the face, and Freddy Krueger make fun of Jason Voorhees. Sometimes words cut just as deeply as knife-fingers do. We’ve also seen brief cameos, big franchise party scenes and moments of fan service that prove that our favorite movie studios really do know what we want sometimes. We’ll also look at crossover history as we explore the biggest crossover in old Hollywood history that may have paved the way for all of the movie crossing action we take for granted today.

Do people forget that the mcu has a hulk movie?! Like it didn't just cross over iron man, captain america, and Thor, hulk was also there. Yes its a different actor and yes hulk isn't the greatest movie but still!

You forgot One Night In Miami. The main characters from Malcom X (1992) and Ali (2001) meet up at the Hampton House AND they are joined by smaller characters from the Buddy Holly Story (1978) and The Express (2008).

Also, I'm not sure if this is a crossover per se, but the character who Jason Robards played in All The Presidents Men (1976) also shows up in Chances Are (1989) and The Post (2017), plus his son appears in Spotlight (2015). I mean, that's

But to blow your mind even further: remember the scene when Forrest Gump pulls down his pants and shows his butt to that old man? Yeah, well, that old man throws a tantrum in a limo and hosts a barbecue in The Right Stuff (1983), blows off the main character in a meeting during Selma (2014), and gets hustled onto an airplane in Parkland (2013). That guy shows up EVERYWHERE.

I wouldn’t call Rogue One a crossover film. The entire premise is based on the opening crawl of Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope.
