He was incredible for sure. You can't just get his stats if you were just better than the rest, he was extremely talented and a gifted athlete. Even if we can agree that the avg skill level of players was worse at his time, he was exceptional and the way he dominated, you know he can translate his game in any era. Maybe not avg 50pts a season but he would still be one of the best in the league in any era.

There is a difference between talent and greatness. For instance Bill Russell was clearly greater player because he won the most rings while being the best player on that team. From the other side Wilt was obviously more skilled than Russell but he cared too much about his own rather than team accolades.
