"Probably the greatest athletic construction ever formed of flesh and blood.” -Sports Illustrated, 1959.

How can a human being be that tall + that fast + that agile + that strong + that coordinated + that amount of stamina all combined into one? Then consider he was on the regimens known at that time. Give Wilt today's training, nutrition, and "supplements" and it would make a monster that topped the limit of a human's physical ceiling.

Imagine Wilt with modern medicine, nutrition, sports training, and basketball techniques & knowledge. We might've seen the highest level any basketball player could ever be, the echelon of basketball in just one player.

After a Hall of Fame basketball career this man played 15 years of pro beach volleyball. That should tell you all you need to know. The man might be the best athlete that’s ever lived

This is a man who averaged 50 points a game for an entire season, 23 rebounds for his career, and scored 100 in a single game. Records that will never be broken. What a freak of nature he was.

He is the irl version of a video game character with every attribute at 100

He could beat people in events that he never even practiced for out of pure athleticism. Just incredible.

I feel like people kinda forget just how cool as hell he was too. Smart, funny, personable. And ultra accomplished in absolutely anything he put himself to. Including boning. Just a rad dude

The thing everybody missing is he did all this in chucks 👀👀👀

Of course he looks huge next to regular people, but him standing next to Patrick Ewing and Shaq really drives it home how massive Wilt was

The more I learn about him the more I think that he might be the most incredible all around athlete to ever live.

Saw Wilt twice in my lifetime live in person, I was like nine years old, once at a closed door practice at the Fourum in 1972, and Jerry West and this was during thier 33 wins in a row streak and the 1972 World Championship team. Then saw Wilt a few years later, he was playing volleyball at Santa Monica Beach and I watched for 45 min nobody could return his spikes and nobody even tried, then the ball rolled over to me out of bounds and I passed it to Wilt, I can actually say I passed a ball to Wilt Chamberlain! Will never forgot these two experiences and the most awesome human specimen I have seen in 59 years of walking this earth.

I used to see him on paddle tennis courts in Venice back in the day. Dude was in his 50s straight DOMINATING!

Honestly, he's just like a mythical character. To be that tall, that fast, that strong and that athletic all at the same time is almost impossible to find.

*Yet hardly ever mentioned in top 10 nba players of all-time. Basketball isn't all about athleticism, but 7'1" running a 4.4sec 40?? This guy was a monster and is very underrated.*
