Ah, nice to see this point conveyed. As I often mention, to me one of the most memorable bits from his autobiography is when he said that he prefers the racism of the Southerners over the racism of the Northerners because the former is open and straightforward, so you know what you are dealing with, while the latter is shaking your hand with a smile while another guy rams a knife in your back.

Arguably this makes the former more sincere, less driven by fear, because people being rotten but open about it are less enslaved by it than those who are even too afraid to admit it but instead use deceptive falsehood as a weapon. - Although we could ponder whether the former is merely from a feeling of peer support and thus just as deeply fear-driven. But then again, aren't the latter thriving on a lot on peer support, too? Or should we consider the former group's openness as merely another form of deception/fear-drive in the form of a self-bullshitting ideology on a deeper level? ... I think their motivation is easier to read, though: Instead of running a whiteknighting scheme, they convey relatively openly that they consider the presence of the negro as a threat to their way of life and are not willing to compromise.

We can clearly see a result of a two-sides-of-the-same-coin situation, though, and it being so thoroughly in a deadlock could indicate that overall both ideologies are equally bad, and as Malcolm X said in the video, merely differing in style.

I also like to bring the heart-mind duality into the picture. While they are all driving suffering from the mind, THE root of it, maybe 'redtribers' are typically more emotionally expressive in their style while 'bluetribers' are stuck really deep in being 'mental'. ... Of course the overlap is getting stronger, because in the natural development of such an ailment, differentiation becomes less necessary and is seen as an additional effort. The ultimate outcome of a scarcity-driven psychology is a monolithic character.
