As a black man, I agree. A liberal lady on my 1st interaction told me “It must be tough dealing with racist cops & dangerous ghettos.” I was raised by both parents in a safe suburban neighborhood & had good interactions with police. Also my mom works in the sheriff’s department.

I’m a white conservative man married to a non-white woman. I remember a couple years ago we were flying to California to visit in-laws and there was an Indian guy right across the aisle from me. He sees us all getting situated and we take off. We exchange pleasantries and talk briefly, then I get out a book to read and he sees it and says “Oh thank god, I thought you were liberal.” Of course I laugh and ask him why, and he says white guy with brown wife and biracial kids. I was waiting for you tell me how awesome my culture is and how you’re aren’t like all the other white people.

All too often, the conservative "comes off as racist" while not really *being* racist; meanwhile, the liberal literally fixates on race ahead of character, personality, thoughts, behaviors, etc.

I am a white conservative and this is very good to hear! I never really thought too much about how "the struggle" of minorities. I would simply think of them as a fellow human being or fellow coworker, or fellow recovering alcoholic or fill in the blank. About the only time that I even think about their race is when I am trying to identify them to someone else when they are in a crowd.

I'm Costa Rican working for American companies, and have visited many states, and never ever had a bad interaction in conservative states, I actually found them very pleasant people

Also Indian American born from Texas. I also learned white liberals were more racist after that Canadian university banned yoga and white liberals were telling me how offended I should be that the university had been appropriating Indian culture. I told them everyone should be doing yoga. Then they started calling me a "stupid desi" even though I'm not desi? I think they thought it was a racial slur.

I had a coworker visiting from California in Texas. On the phone she's always going on about the most racist liberal crap. Had to stop at a grocery store before dropping her off at hotel she locked the door while driving and said "is this place safe?" I was thinking wtf are you talking about this is a nice area? I looked around and saw a black guy with his kid. Finally get her in and when we were checking out she changed her accent from calidumb to weird movie ghetto to talk to the cashier, and held up her first and said BLM sista. I was so fking embarrassed
