Biblical? Still living in the 12th century?

At least they aren't using once in 100 years flood, so when it happens in 4 years, it won't sound silly.

So sorry to everyone adversely effected by the storm. Hold on, help is on the way.

There are a lot of people living up in those hills that are pretty remote, where the roads aren't great on a good day. I hope they are all reached and get the assistance they need!

It is absolutely heartbreaking. My brother lives in the Boone area of North Carolina. They were fortunate and did not have to deal with flooding, but the surrounding areas were my stepdad lives in South Carolina near Greenville and suffered storm damage around in the area up, rooted trees, and some flooding and this is so heartbreaking. These areas are not used to this kind of disaster.💔🙏🏻💔🙏🏻

We really need to stop using biblical terms as reference points for things like this.

I'm not trying to start a fight about religion. I'm just saying that I think it causes undue fear and stress on people who are already going through something that is really really terrible.

That said, I am so so sorry for everyone going through this. I can't fathom the horror and devastation and loss.

Umm…biblical? Try ‘geologic’ if trying to describe magnitude, scale or time. Events on a warming planet have nothing to do with religion, but everything to do change being larger, quicker, and of a more drastic scope. The fact is that modern human civilizations have existed in a period of relative stasis for many millennia and a new epoch of the earth changing as a result of climatic changes is likely upon us. The only reason one might call this ‘biblical’ is that these changes are tough for some to comprehend and for many to admit are happening - so best just attribute it to a greater power.

Biblical? They might want to start listening to scientists instead of preachers for their climate change information.

Maybe communies and states should update their infrastructure? Build things to last and not quick and cheap?

That's like saying it's "Lord of the Rings" level flooding. We don't have to reference fantasy novels to describe actual real life events.

It wasn't 'biblical flooding'. If that were the case there wouldn't be anyone or anything left.
