He missed few important topics. Base circle and Backlash
A) Backlash. It is a clearance provided between two messing teeth in order to avoid Jamming generally due to thermal expansion and also provide space for lubricating oil. *How it is different than clearance?*
Well Backlash is a difference between tooth space of Gear 1 and Tooth thickness of Gear 2. Were clearance is difference of Deddendum and Addendum. I hope it clear you the difference.
2) Base circle. It is a circle through which line of action or line normal to the Tooth face or pressure line ( whatever they call it) passes tangentially. It is used to draw Involute gear. Above Base circle you have Involute profile and Below Base circle it is not.

Who says ss rattan is best & simple book ? It has used complicated English throughout, only chapter 1 - mechanisms & machines, is given in a somewhat easy language - as an introductory chapter, rest all hi-fi english words are used.
It is difficult to understand cams & gears only from SS RATTAN book without relying on external help.

This video has been presented in a very easy manner for explaining the gear terminology. Thanks sir

THANK YOU, FOR THIS GREAT INTRODUCTION TO GEAR TOOTH TERMINOLOGY, AND, PARAMETERS. I'D LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO "SELECT" COMPATABLE SMALL PLASTIC GEARS"... BY THEIR BASIC "MODULE" VARIABLES, ... AND WHO ARE THE BEST "SUPPLIERS/MANUFACTURERS" OF THEM?...

0:37 aren't gears 3 dimensional.. there should be line contact right ?

Okay then there must be 2 pitch points for 2 pitch circles....no wait there must be multiple pitch points because gear is not in contact at one point. Even first and last points on line of action are contact point, so can these points be considered as pitch points...No?

Explained in a good way - but there are some mismatchings in the figure & the definitions written- e.g. - Just check for face what is shown in the figure & what definition is written .. ( it is written as below the pitch surface but it is actually above the pitch surface in the diagram )

Please correct the explanation at 9.28 circular pitch is measured along the circumference whereas the explanation indicates straight line distance
