Epic WW2 Reenactment [Ostfront; with T-34 Tank] -- Rockford 2014

A Russian patrol runs into German emplacements, and a minor clash quickly evolves into a full-out armored and infantry assault. Filmed at the annual WW2 Days reenactment in Rockford, IL.

The T-34 you see here is the only operating T-34 this side of the globe and is herself a veteran of World War Two. Though she did not see action on the Eastern Front, she did see action against the Japanese in Manchuria during the final days of the war and has the scars to prove it. She currently resides at the Military Veterans Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I was thrilled when this tank started partaking in reenactments a few years ago, not only because it's a cool tank and ultra rare to find in the United States, but finally the Soviet reenactors could get some armor on the field! Unfortunately, last I heard in 2017, this tank is no longer allowed to cross state lines since it is considered a fully functioning tank by the government who has decided to crack down on her movements, so it will be a long time until I can get more film of this old vet, if ever again. I actually have interior footage of the crew operating this T-34, but sadly I no longer have the tech to pull it off the tape I recorded it on. Maybe there will be an opportunity to get some more in the future for you to see.

This reenactment was done with blank rounds, which means the shells have gunpowder but no projectile. Pyrotechnics were set off by observers nearby. If you are interested in reenacting, just keyword it and look for a unit near you.

You’re the only Youtuber who somehow manages to make spectating seem as fun as being one of the reenactors... good job.

I feel like every time I see or watch an event going on, it's the Russian and German reenactors that appear to be having the most fun. The Americans always seem like such hardos.

Considering how Mosins are cheap these days, I'm assuming it was easy to get a lot of those there.
