Having this on VHS and watching it 30 times a year as a kid was nice.

One thing I like about this scene is it shows some of Alan’s character development. He went from not liking kids, to tolerating them, to actively engaging with them. He could have just been “Tim, see the Gallimimus, how they run and change course like birds” but instead he got Tim to use his passion and strengths to identify them himself. I really wish they wrote more for Lex to use her strengths.

This looks better than most movies and it’s 27 years old a true masterpiece

The thing that makes this movie so great is that the dinosaurs act like actual animals, instead of mindlessly chasing the humans like movie monsters. The dilophosaurus sizes up nedry, making sure he is a target before moving in for a kill. The trex focuses on the gallimimus meal instead of charging the humans. The raptors plan a coordinated attack on Muldoon. Things like this solidify this movie as my favorite film of all time.

I loved this scene as a kid because it was a minor glimpse into how these dinosaurs would naturally hunt and act. Notice as soon as the T-Rex finally catches the Gallimimus, the rest stop running because they know they're safe? Such cool attention to natural details.

A nice touch on this scene is the fact the Galli’s in the background don’t run during the t-Rex feasting. Just like a group of prey would do in real life

While this movie has the least action of any Jurassic Park film, it's by far the best. The anticipation for every dinosaur reveal is just off the charts, not a wasted scene. Crazy how well it holds up 20 years on.

Man, this movie is almost 30 years old and the CGI still looks so great! Unbeliveable work!

I love how Grant and Timmy were just kind of nerding out over the dinosaurs at 1:30 while Lex is like “I just wanna go.”

It was so awesome seeing hte T-Rex for the first time in the daytime. The CGI team can make little mistakes with shots at night, but in the dayshots it'd be more visible to the viewer's eye.
Really astounding what they accomplished here.

"Just like a flock of birds evading a predator."

I feel like he should have taken the hint.

"Just look how it eats" Dr. Grant is just as FASCINATED as the kid is. You can tell dinos are his passion big time with that little moment

I love how fascinated Grant is as he watches this scene go down. As though the initial shock of this animal has completely passed over him now, and is almost entranced by how the Rex devours its prey. Even one of this kids is like

I bet even the CGI artists look back at this and wonder how the hell they made it look so good!

Galli in the background: welp, she got Freddie. Sucks to be him.

0:02. If you listen closely, you can hear Dr. Grant saying something about the “map” and fun fact he actually had a map with him but they cut it out.

In 1993, the world was using Windows 3.1 and the guys who worked on this movie created the most realistic CGI dinosaurs to this day. Incredible what they accomplished.
