Testing My REV'IT Offtrack 2 Gear and My Honda Transalp 750 in a HAIL STORM

When I set out to get in a little rain to see how my new REV'IT Offtrack 2 H2O jacket and pants performed, I did not expect that I would end up giving it and my new Honda Transalp 750 a trial by fire (or ice in this case) in a driving hail storm...but that's exactly what happened.

Come along with my as I attempt to get home before getting struck by lightning. This was one hell of a REV'IT Offtrack 2 gear test and I have to say it did incredibly well in the driving rain and hail. When I got home, I was basically completely dry under my gear except for the drizzle where I left the Offtrack 2 jacket unbuttoned at the collar.

I like to torture test my waterproof gear, but I can honestly say this may be the toughest motorcycle rain gear test I've ever done. My REV'IT Offtrack 2 review afterward is absolutely stellar. I came away very impressed with this waterproof adventure motorcycle gear.

Forget Bret and his "smile while you ride" tag line. The first 50 seconds of Dork laughing his ass off as he rides in the hail just epitomizes the riding spirit. Go buddy!

I have been fortunate enough to only be caught out in hail a few times on the bike. It does turn into a bit of a weird video game.

I’ve been excited about that gear, since it was announced. Hopefully you’ll make a real review of it later.

We are glad you made it back home safe.

Very cool and funny video. I have ridden in hail and lightning a few times here in AZ. Even with all my gear on it finds ways to hit you in unpadded areas . Keep the content coming

Great Video. Capturing the essence of all weather riding!

You are right, it’s not the tires that protect you from lightning. Logic says that if lighting can make it from clouds to the ground, the few inches of air from your vehicle to the ground would be no problem. But electricity flows on the outside of metal objects. And that metal is certainly less resistance than the air inside the cabin.

Yeah Dork, when I was stationed in Wichita Falls in the AF, I was riding up the only hill for a hundred miles in a thunderstorm. I took a hit to my throttle arm. Hurt like hell, and then I rode under a car wash to sit it out. My friend Don, got hit and was knocked unconscious. His wife, who was riding pillion, reach over him and grabbed the handlebars, guiding the bike to the shoulder. Long answer is, no, you have zero protection! 😅
