Had to shut it off. Those men are such horrible bullies. The father seems to think the Alex cares what he thinks. She comes from a rich, family with a long history in running top hotels. She wouldn't give him, or his grubby hotel a second thought once she left.

It actually has TWO stars? 🤯 and mr. ‘Yes dear’ is incredibly disrespectful. And the broken ‘E’ is something that I would have fixed the day it happened. That broken E is a very good indication of what to expect inside. I would not pay even 20 quid for a stay, they would have to pay me to stay there. The hot pink was debatable but all the blue is just horrendous.

The awful men in that family are very off putting. I couldn't be around them for 5 minutes let alone married to one. I agree the pink and orange bar was awful but the blue is just as bad.

I don't get why so many of these hotels don't keep the same look in every room. You would think it would be harder if all the rooms were different when it came to repairing damages. And if you had the same bedspreads in every room it would be easier to swap them out if one were to become stained. And so forth.

On the plus side, wonderful that they are meticulously clean even before implementing improvements. So many places aren’t that tidy.

Currently it is still open and listed as "family run, " but there are complaints about the noise from the "Oakland Hotel Bar."

Should I ever have to stay in that area, it would never be at that hotel. Father is the most ARROGANT and RUDE man...the opposite of "mine host".
Not a good ambassador for the hotel !

Still going strong with same owners and same loud music on the weekends it seems. But they really took what Alex said on board and small changes really made a big improvement to the rooms especially.
