Final Fantasy XV - Omen

“Omen” is a conceptual CG cinematic trailer by DIGIC Pictures, inspired by Final Fantasy XV.

A rapidly shifting world, enemies that appear endlessly, gradual loss of abilities… and a madness that brings harm to the beloved fiancée.

This epic production, which can only be described as a nightmare for the struggling Noctis, is a collaboration between Final Fantasy XV and DIGIC Pictures, the world-renowned 3D animation studio that also took part in the creation of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.

This beautiful yet violent vision inspired by the world and story of Final Fantasy XV depicts an “omen” for Noctis’ father, King Regis, of a catastrophic future that must be avoided.

Final Fantasy XV will be available worldwide on 29th November, 2016 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

After finishing the game, I completely understand the trailer now. In this vision of Regis, Noctis travels alone, is being led astray by a false friend (the dog which turns out is a demon dog/Ardyn) and eventually falls to the darkness and becomes like Ardyn/kills Luna like Ardyn did. That's why at the beginning of the game Regis urged the guys to always stick by Noctis. To prevent this from coming true. One of the best and most meaningful trailers I've seen. <3

I'm guessing Noct going alone would lead to this dark timeline. And to prevent that Regis decided that it be best for Noct to travel with his friends to his wedding.

For anyone watching this in need of some context, this is a "what-if" scenario where Noctis travels without his bros, the dark dog signifies Ardyn, the game's villain, a.k.a. the Starscourge, King Regis is talking to the crystal of Lucis within which Bahamut resides. The "one" whose death the crystal looks forward to is Ardyn's and the one who will take "responsibility" is Noctis. The reason King Regis feels so guilty is because he knows that his actions will lead to the death of many, including Noctis. There, you're all caught up now.

ok so I was going to a top 5 best trailers we have ever had in the 10 years of FFXV. I just had number 1 slapped in my face like a big low hanging sack. Gorgeous trailer and who now doesn't believe that chaos Noctis is going to be a thing? That moment Noct pointed the trident at Luna... I pooped people. My body is so ready

People praise Pixar for having such "amazing" animation, but nothing they have done has ever come to this. This looks breathtaking. Will the game be this good? We don't know for sure, but this video still is a masterpiece.

This is mindblowing, not only is this the best FFXV trailer, but its the greatest game trailer i have ever seen. they just hyped up the game twice fold now with Omen. The story is going to be amazing too it seems. game of the year 2016 no doubt

Throughout the trailer Noctis seems to supposedly follow and keep up with Luna's dog Pryna (aka Tiny - who btw still wears Prompto's bandage here), in order to eventually find and save Luna - while in truth he was going there to kill her. That false dog was leading him astray - manipulating him in order to fulfil a dark destiny, where he murders her. While, at the same time,  in the reflection, Luna- who's the one on the quest here - was following her own dog to meet up with Noctis. Both didn't know how bad things will turn out though.
All this hard work and fighting and instead of finding her to save her, he ended up being her doom.

The fast  transitions and surrealistic pacing give off a distinct dream-like feeling. Just like with real dreams - and nightmares - we are constantly drawn from one location to another, one scene to the next. Sometimes by our own will, though usually- out of our control.
This is a dark foreshadowing Omen of a troubled King concerned for his Kingdom's future. And a father worried for his dear son's safety.

The chocobros missing means this could've happened if Noctis is alone travelling and going to Luna eventually killing her. I believe this is the reason why Regis sent Noctis WITH the chocobros, they can prevent this from happening just by being with him, "I ask not for you to guide my wayward son, merely that you remain at his side." is what Regis said in the CG graphic in the TGS trailer.
Also, I think what Regis meant by "May the Gods forgive me" is that he could've prevented this "omen" from happening but then he chose to love his son and set up the Lucis force field (wall) not to save the kingdom but to save Noctis.

The Omen is avoided... With King Regis sending Noctis off accompanied by his friends. In this trailer he's solo, and he loses his way without the company of his brothers.
