Saying Goodbye to My Fire Ant Queen | She Will Die Now

It's a very sad day. I was truly looking forward to having a new fire ant colony this year from this newly caught queen ant with eggs. Unfortunately, it just wasn't meant to be. I'll have to say goodbye to her, and I explain in this video why and how I need to do it. However, there is hope and I will not give up. Ant love forever! Hey It would be cool to have an episode on how to humanely deal with invading colonies in your home and garden. On one hand they farm aphids which farmers try to avoid but they also aerate and add nutrients to the soil. I've often wondered if you could grow a "sacrificial crop" for them that doesn't get a lot of airflow for aphids.

It's pretty sad when you think about her perspective... she tried to bring life to more ants for a new colony and she ends up alone in that test tube for the rest of her natural life... and she doesn't even understand WHY her babies aren't growing, it's gotta be so depressing from her view.

im so lucky when i caught my prenolepis imparis queen she landed on my shoulder with a male attached. right now she has pupae that are about 4 days till hatching
