Anyone else hate how much the audience laughs at what are supposed to kinda be the serious parts of the show ?? I do feel like the obc really leans into the comedy in the second act while I’ve seen other productions give it a more serious approach, and I think I might like the latter better for the foreshadowing of the ending. I remember the first time I saw this show everyone was holding their breath throughout the finale and shocked at the ending. I don’t know if this was the actors or audience or both (probably mainly the audience), but I guess it didn’t come across as chilling as it could have for this audience considering the actual content of the script. While there are a few small moments in this production acted more comedic than I expected, I do think it was mainly just the audience laughing throughout parts I feel that, just reading the script, are better suited to be more serious. Still love the original broadway cast tho of course.
