The main reason the away goal was got rid of was because how boring it made 2 legged ties in the first leg, because home teams were way too cautious, so some teams would rather draw the 1st leg at home and aim to score in the second. Plus how is it fair to go out of an important CL tie when the overall score is a draw?

Away goals has always been a bad rule, home teams would play cautious and scared because they didn't wanna concede in the first leg and then the other team would park the bus in the second leg

I liked the away goals. But it was a very unfair rule.
In the first leg, the away team has 90 mins to score away goals.
But in the second leg, if the game goes into extra time, the away team got and additional 30 minutes (120 min in total) to score aways goals which is why I found it very unfair.
We can bring back the rule. But amend it limit it to only 90 minutes in both legs.
