In this video I will explain how can we tell if an equation is a cylinder. Surprisingly the equation of a cylinder, x^2+y^2= 1, is the same in 2 and 3 dimensions. So the only way we can tell if the equation is in 3 dimensions is by context, or stated in the problem. z can have any value.

What if you wanted to put a constraint on the height of the cylinder in the Z-axis?

Thank you so much for the informative video. I really need to know how to find out if the giving equation is for a sphere, hemisphere, circle, or semi-circle. Could you please help?
