In this video I will explain how can we tell if an equation is a parabola in 3 dimensions. Surprisingly the equation of a parabola, y-x^2, is the same in 2 and 3 dimensions. So the only way we can tell if the equation is in 3 dimensions is by context, or stated in the problem. z can have any value.
