MUST TRY Singapore Local Foods | Live Like a Local in Singapore

I have been living in Singapore for a few years so far and enjoy the local way of living. It’s not only a cultural experience for me, but also saves me a lot of money by living like a local. Food (hawker center, coffee shop, etc.) are a big part of Southeast Asian culture. Today I want to share my local good eats in Singapore. These items are not just for Singapore, but some of them may exist in other Southeast Asia or Asian countries like China.

Happy makan!

The best thunder tea rice that I love is at the basement of Peoples Park Center Foodcourt costing $5.80. The green soup is a herb make up of Chinese Parsley n etc. the stall is closed on Sunday. This dish originated from the Hakka not Hokkien

Chances upon this old video.Thunder tea is a hakka dish, not hokkinen dish.

Old airport road in the Eastern side is nice for lor mee.satay, fried Kway teow with cockles, mutton soup.

ABC market at Alexandra behind Grand Park Hotel Claypot rice, fried hokkinen noodles and satay bee hoon with cockles.

First is Teh C Gao kosong.
Thick tea undiluted without sugar with evaporated milk.

Hi Spicy girl Koala, if you like spicy food, you must try chilli padi ! It definitely will cause your eyes to turn to tears.
Alternatively, try the Malay nasi lemak, asking plenty of chilli pedas.

There is a very popular thunder tea rice at Tanjong Pagar Food Centre, it’s ingredients are very fresh and it’s tasty. You should try when you come back to Singapore.
