In today's video, we're talking about engagement proposals – one of the most exciting and nerve-wracking moments of your life. The time has come when you have to put on your big boy pants and pop the big question to the love of your life. IIt's a daunting task, but have no fear, because I'm here to give you some top tips for planning the perfect proposal. By the end of this video, you will have all the tools you will need to execute the perfect proposal.
If you’re new to the channel, My name is Osiris, I’m a GIA trained diamond expert. I was in the diamond trade for many years and now I help people learn how to buy diamonds online. BUT also I am a professional wedding photographer and videographer. I have captured hundreds of weddings and listened to so many proposal stories. I have learned a few things over the years and want to share that with you.

Now look, you don’t need to get fancy with your proposal. You can just bend the knee and say will you marry me. Or or you can dig deeper and make this proposal something they will talk about at your 25 year anniversary Lets get into it.
Tip #1: Location, location, location. When it comes to planning the perfect proposal, location is key. The location you choose should be special and meaningful to both you and your partner. Think about a place that holds significance for your relationship, whether it's the spot where you had your first kiss, the place where you first said "I love you," or a place that holds a special memory for the two of you.
Also a huge tip, guys make it a place they want to go to and make it A planned date. You go too spontaneous and your plans maybe ruined. Women want to know where they are doing. The location should be tailored to your relationship and make the proposal special and memorable for both of you. Also, make sure to consider the time of year, weather and time of day, it could be something that adds to the overall atmosphere of the proposal.

Tip #2: Get Personal, or as I like to call it, "Make it about you, not just the ring."
When it comes to proposing, it's all about your relationship, and let's face it, your partner's not going to say yes just because you got them a fancy diamond -although it helps. No, what really matters is showing them that you put some thought and effort into this whole thing and that it's a reflection of your love and commitment.
So, how do you make it personal?
Get to know your partner's preferences. Before you plan the proposal, it's important to take the time to understand what your partner likes and dislikes. Do they want a spectacle of a proposal surrounded by hundreds of people in the middle of a MOB dance. or Do they like intimate private settings? Think about their favorite color, their favorite food, and the things they enjoy doing. You can also ask their friends and family for insights, but try not to be too obvious. If their friends or your friends just got engaged, talk about them and gather intel from what she says. When you plan the proposal, you want to make sure it's tailored to your partner's preferences, so it feels special and personal.
For example, if your partner loves sunsets, plan the proposal for sunset. Or, if they have a favorite song, play it during the proposal. Better yet, is there a place they have been dying to go too? Use that as an excuse to dress up nice and go. These small details will make the proposal even more memorable.

•Write a heartfelt letter: Penning a love letter might sound cheesy, but trust me, it's a classic move for a reason. It's a great way to pour your heart out, remind your partner of all the sappy stuff they love about you, and hopefully, avoid any awkward silences during the proposal.
•Create a video: We live in a digital age, and nothing says "I love you" like a video montage of all your best memories set to a catchy tune. So, gather all those photos and videos of your relationship, add some cheesy music, and voila! You have yourself a personal proposal video.

I got the ring about a month ago now, thought that was stressful lol. We have our 6 year anniversary early in November and I’ve booked a room with a beautiful view in Brickell, Miami. Was planning on proposing during our first night so we have the next couple days to celebrate. Now I’m second guessing myself thinking I should do it Christmas Eve at the family Christmas party her aunt always hosts. It’s her favorite holiday so I’m torn between private and intimate next month or making it a family affair on Christmas…if I do it privately I was planning on setting the room up in advance with rose pedals and a light up marry me sign plus champagne and maybe a pair of sneakers bc she’s a sneakerhead lol and recording it myself as we walk into the room and very quickly setting my phone down to record the rest as I ask the question. If I do it Christmas I’ve no idea yet as to what to do for the setup.

I have a year or two to perfect this so I’m looking to find the right info and look for the best options and locations, I’ve never been a big marriage person I’ve always thought “what do we the men get out of marriage” and that question still stands that no one can answer me with😂BUT after meeting my gf and enjoying life together I just want this! I get her smile and I get her love and it’s a promise, to me and to god that I’ll always keep my promise to love and to take care of her

Hi Osiris! Thank you for your videos. Any thoughts on the Astor Ideal cut by Blue Nile? will that be comparable to any of the lab grown diamonds they have in terms of brilliance, fire and sparkle?

Would it be okay to ask my partners mother instead of her father? My partner doesn't have a good relationship with her father.

I just have a question, we are looking for a ring budget is around 30k. Is it better to buy from a big brand like Harry Winston or buy my own diamond and have it set. Question is do big brands actually have better craftsmanship or is it just marketing
