What If Goku Learned Forced Spirit Fission (Vegeta's new technique) in the Cell Saga?

In the latest Dragon Ball Super Manga chapter - Dragon Ball Super Chapter 61 - we find out that Yardrat has more going on for it than just the Instant Transmission technique. While we knew this to be the case since Dragon Ball Z, we actually learn what those techniques are in Dragon Ball Super with one of them being Forced Spirit Fission - the ability to separate things that were combined through fusion or absorption. That’s a pretty unique and interesting ability to be sure so I want to ask a question in this Dragon Ball What If. Let’s find out what would have happened if Goku learned Forced Spirit Fission in the Cell Saga?

Considering the boost Vegeta received from learning the technique compared to Goku with Merus, I believe Goku would have been far more powerful in the Cell Games than anticipated. Plus, with such incredible energy control he'd likely haven been a Super Saiyan 2.

4:54 I believe Goku still would forfeit the fight in favor of Gohan, but as he realizes Gohan is not ready yet and asks Krillin for as Senzu to return to battle as in the original is when he will use Forced Spirit Fission as a backup plan.

You mentioned how Goku would still become the first Super Saiyan God, but I was thinking maybe Gohan could be the first, since he'd be way stronger than Goku if he actually continued his training during during the time lapse from the Cell and Buu sagas, and as the strongest Saiyan he'd be the best option to fight Beerus. Not too sure if this could be possible, but it's definitely something to think about.

I do like this idea especially Goku's different view on the Cell games and his role in the world for the next generation because he had another 6 months of self reflection on the matter.
I could also imagine another smaller part to this what if would be others possibly going to yardrat for spirit control training at an earlier point but that wouldn't likely affect much.

Almost perfectly realistic what if as always. My only complaint is that Nail didn't emerge from the technique as well. And decide to just return to New Namek.
