"Michael Jordan's storybook ending to his career with the Chicago Bulls - defeating the Utah Jazz with John Stockton and Karl Malone for his 6th NBA Championship and 2nd three-peat.

Possibly the most iconic moment in NBA history when he hit the go-ahead shot in the final seconds of the game."

Jordan playing each possession like it's game 7, that's the difference.

People will forget the incredible steal before “the shot” or even that tough layup . I remember sitting on the couch watching this live, goosebumps every time I relive it .

Watched this in real time and even watching it now (for the 100 billionth time), it still has more character and excitement than any game I’ve watched in the 10s or especially 20s.

Players don’t care now because they’re rich regardless, and fans aren’t engaged anymore, due to cell phones.

Go to any game in any sport these days and see if you can find an entire crowd fully engaged in the sport they’re supposedly watching like during these times.

I miss that feeling.

Pure basketball genius. This is why MJ felt he perfected the art of playing basketball after the 98 season. Brilliance, poise, gravitas, grace and intelligence under immense pressure. I've felt like there's so much meaninglessness and wasted time in media, but this was a time when we were shown and taught something about greatness and skill.

This is the most excellent example of what a highlight is, great defense leading to offense not to mention the awareness of MJ to focus and execute getting a quick shot off the inbound play to make sure there was enough time for one good last offensive possession. Once he hesi and drove to the rim for the jelly lay in the defense now will be ready to cut off his angle to the lane once the hesi comes, meanwhile on the Bulls defensive end Karl is using the same method of offense he used in the first 3 quarters which Phil Jackson noted to Michael before the inbound play the possession before. With MJs ability to execute Phils order on the defensive end Jordan came up with the single most clutch defensive possession in finals history followed by the single most clutch shot in finals history with patiently observing the defense once he crosses half court, he remembers he just went to the basket so Russell will want to take that away from him, Jordan hesi's which gets Russell to over commit and try to cut off the angle Jordan previously used, before MJ even got halfway to that angle he hit Russell with the cross breaking Russells ankles and hitting the single most iconic shot in finals history. A spectacular masterpiece of basketball in the clutch from the face of the association! The standard was set here!

What makes this sequence so beautiful is offense and defense of Michael Jordan and his basketball IQ then to top it all off the shot was all net and he made a pose

I was at Bucknell University at the time. I remember we were all watching this game in a common area. When Jordan shot over Russel, this dude and I yelled out thinking Jordan was too tired to take a good shot. It felt so good when he made it. That was a real good time to be a fan of the NBA.

One of the greatest defensive plays collectively the Chicago bulls made ever.. and then of course MJ finishes the deal with the clutch jumper.. for the title..😊❤
