Marlon Brando directing himself ! It was done professionally well by him not trying to steal scenes from other actors especially Carl Malden.
I personally wish he had directed more films but his legacy as the greatest male actor will reign supreme .

One of the best westerns I've ever watched is unquestionably this one. Not just a wonderful western, but also a fantastic film. All of the actors gave convincing performances, but Karl Malden really stood out to me over Brando.

One of my top ten westerns. Beautiful cinematography/scenery, good acting, and a typical revenge movie with a bit of a twist on the part of Rio at the end. Ben Johnson is a hoot as a villain, very scraggly and unkempt, with some memorably funny lines.
