How to Shave a English Angora

In this video, we show how we use an electric shaver to groom our English Angora bunny. We shave our long haired rabbits roughly every quarter of the year, and it takes us about 30-45 minutes to fully shave each of our bunnies! Our bunnies enjoy getting a haircut when their wool becomes too hot or thick, especially since some of ours are indoor rabbits.

I'm freaking out because I just found a large Matt under my bun's butt and I can't tell what one is the tail and what one is the matt. This has never happened to me before. Thank you so much for this video.

I have an angora/lop mix and I tried the brushing every couple of days cause she'd mat up if I didn't. She didn't seem to mind, but it was soo time consuming. Then one day I used clippers and shaved her down and wow... she was so happy and doing binkies that night. Seems like she'd rather have less hair so now I just use clippers on her once every couple of weeks. She was a super FLUFF ball though :)

Is there a danger to shaving when the bunny has matting? I mean you would try to cut them out first but if it gets stuck in matting you missed or something?? It's a bit scary when you don't want to hurt your bun but fur has gotten a bit out of control. hard to find bunny groomers.
