I’d buy this truck, swap in the TRD pro wheels, fender flares and suspension and call it a day with 20k still in your pocket 👍🏽 guys like myself can go without leather and electronics.

For someone who wants a "base" full size truck and their in it for the long haul - for longevity it's not a terrible thing that your getting a slightly detuned version of the twin turbo V6.

I like the base models, simple and not complicated.

I like this truck. Toyota tuned it for reliability and longevity like the famous GX/Tundra V8 301 hp 4.6L and snuck in the same safety features as the top lines. Two things kill it for me as an off-roader: no option for locking rear differential, and a 22-gallon gas tank with no option for 32/38. With Toyota's conservative fuel tank warnings, this means your gas light goes off at like 300 miles in city driving, 375 on the highway. Although, both of those could be added after-market :D Cool truck, great work as always Jeff.

Very good points made! I had not realized the towing capacity was so drastically cut for the base model. You’re video has me reevaluating things. Very helpful.

I purchased a brand new 07 off the lot. Best 34k I've ever spent. Now has 282k running great. The only problem is it hard on tires. On the fifth set. They need to make tires last longer.

Thank you for being one of the few people that have review the SR.

I like your enthusiasm, I don't like when the tail gait is down, you can't use the corner of the bumper to step up into the bed. They went with form over function with that. They do have a lot of nice features considering it's an SR. I'll stick with my 07 for now.

This in 4x4 is the best truck in the lineup.

Yep, I have to admit I was expecting the MSRP's to be WAY higher than they are!! Very nice!! I do agree to WAIT at least until August or so before buying one to help Toyota mitigate some of the issues that have popped up....which is smart even with Toyota's...this generation has a HUGE amount of changes, probably the most-ever for Tundra!! Any news on how they are selling?

Nice video Jeff. This seems like a bargain for a full size crew max truck. I bet most people will spring for the higher trims. This is a perfect clean slate for anyone who may want to modify there’s.

How’s the driver seat position. I’m 5 ft 7, so that makes a big difference.. I wish Toyota offered a manual seat height adjustment.

After cross shopping the ‘24 F150 and Tundra SR5, TRD trims- finally went with the base “contractor special” SR in black. Couldn’t justify
extra $10k for a few extra HP, wheels and rarely used features. There’s a lot included on the base SR. Out the door for just over $41k- very happy with it so far. Will likely add rims/tires when the stockers are worn out. Added a step bar for $150 and fender flares for $80. It’s a personal choice, but for me, SR is a good value for the money.

All it needs is personal preference rims and it's perfect for me.

Thank god! I finally a video that's not filmed in Canada!

If I had to get one, SR would be my choice if it had power seats and brake controller. I’m 6’5” so I have to seats that can adjust up and down.

Forgot to mention the SR engine makes it power at lower RPM so it still feels frisky. And forgot to mention SR 2WD gets the best highway fuel economy of all the Toyota models. Too bad no test drive was included.
