Omega's Seamaster 2541.80 will always be considered the most admired or desired model purely linked to 007. This model continues to rise in value from 1995, and purely on status and kudos linkage to Bond and being the original quartz Bond watch you see these going for between £1, 500 to £2, 450. I personally love mine, Omega have an amazing heritage in watch making, long may it last.

I have it, and it is the watch that gets most wrist time. Of course I bought it because I'm a big fan of goldeneye! Love it, quartz watches like this with interesting heritage should get more consideration.

I love both watches, but the overall aesthetics of the older one appeals to me more, not to mention the price! Great review as always!!!

I adore this watch. I have owned one since 2000. It is my favorite among all my watches. My only regret is not showing Pierce Brosnan that I was wearing it when he was standing RIGHT NEXT TO ME at the airpot.

I bought the automatic chronometer version of this watch in mid-2002 and still have it in flawless condition, having been exceptionally careful with it over the years. It was my very first nice watch that I bought shortly after starting my first professional job after college the year before. At the time it was $1, 750 U.S., and with tax it was just over $2K. It’s crazy how much prices have gone up on everything, including Omegas. The current equivalent is $5, 900. Over 3 times the price. I recently and finally just purchased my 2nd Omega, the Speedmaster Moon Watch with sapphire face, after 24 years waiting. I can remember in 2002 when I bought my Seamaster, that the same Speedmaster was maybe around $2, 500 to $2, 700. Today it’s $8K. I suppose it’s good that most of these go up in value even on the used market over time, but just the same, I don’t buy them to sell them, but to keep them and wear them occasionally. So that’s of little importance to me.

I have the same watch, but a silver bezel. Wanted the automatic movement but when I saw the silver bezel and it was quartz movement I had to have it. 20 years later it is still my daily watch without fail.

Both of these watches are true pieces of art! The Omega Seamaster and the Oris Aquis are my grail watches!
Man are they beautiful pieces of work....

I love this watch. Just wish the automatic was used in the movie but it still has a special place in my heart. I was born in 95 and it was Bonds first Omega.

This watch is very hard to find at a reasonable price but I managed to find an automatic 2531.80 at 1100$. Yesterday I gave it for a Bezel replacement at the AD. Great review Ivan!!

great review, I have the 2531.80. I have many watches in my collection but the seamaster still gets the most wrist time!

Ahhh yes its the Seamaster, its like a gentle breeze from the ocean that caresses your face or that morning rey of sun and cup of coffee that starts your day, you look at it and suddenly a smile appears because you know its going to be a lovely day.👍🏼

Going with quartz. I can get a beautiful auto like a JLC some day but to me the quartz Goldeneye appeals more. Thin, accurate and cheap to run, service....i don't see why so many people have such a negative reaction to this watch, and prefer the 2531.80 instead.

To me this makes more sense as a carefree tool watch... I'm going 2541.80

P.s. currently i have the midsize version. It's accurate to less than a second per day. In fact it seems to be dead on every day...its beautiful and i never have to worry about it, except a battery change

Like i said, if you want a great auto, get a watch with a very nice movement.... the 1120 isn't exactly incredible is it?

I think the original bond Omega is this would be happy with either if I'm honest, but the quartz wins on this occasion (the only other quartz watches i like are G shocks and other Casios)

I love the independent hour setting! It’s too bad the 3531.80 automatic version doesn’t have that feature!

Thank you for your review🎉and comparison. Also, I have Seamaster Ref: 212.30.14.20.03.001 about 10 years. In my opinion, overall the quality and design of this watch is better than the old one😀

Great review and comparison, I really enjoyed it! I happen to own both the quartz and the automatic, they are both equally beautiful and nearly identical in the looks department. Goldeneye got me into Omegas, so it was only fitting to own the quartz model. The automatic gets the most wrist time, however.

One thing I love about Omega is their design on clasp. Especially this one, long and narrow. Totally flat and not a thing sticking out.
