Checking and adjusting the X gantry alignment on the xTool D1

Moving some of the quickie help videos I've done for individuals over to my channel so they're easier to find and reference.

This one covers the X gantry, which is what the laser module move across (left/right). When it's not aligned properly, the symptoms tend to look the same as symptoms of loose/tight/mismatched Y belts. Circles are round, squares aren't square, laser seems to burn front to back ok but then goes sideways when it shouldn't or doesn't move when it should.

I am glad that I came across this video while randomly checking out other Xtool D1 videos. I tested the alignment and discovered my gantry was not aligned. Thank you for helping me discover an issue !

I just love you! I haven't really done anything with my brand new XTool D1 Pro yet, but noticed by chance that my gantry is totally out of square! A few millimeters at least. XTool has a brief blurb on their website about aligning the gantry, but it never mentions loosening this one screw first! You are a lifesaver.

By the way, I found you on Etsy, been wanting to buy your modules extension cables (What a great idea!) But they are so popular, keep seeing the 20W version is out of stock. But I will not give up, and I will check regularly. You are a champ. Wishing you much success.

I can't figure out why the machine won't move sideways. It only goes forwards and backwards and no one has any ideas. It's frustrating

Hi. Slightly different problem here. My module seems straight after the test but the crosshairs when framing a material, the laser does not cut exactly where it's framed. I have to push the laser crosshairs out of the material area on the the jig I'm using on one side slightly and then it cuts in the middle. Very annoying. Could you please give me an answer to this? Thanks 🙏🙏👍👍
Also I don't know if the crosshairs frame themselves to be straight after focusing the laser but mine seem not squared atall. Thanks again

are you still active on here? I'm wondering about squaring the actual laser head to the table, mine is has like 4 degrees out of level and I know that my spoilboard is level

Hi, Cobey...when you tighten that screw, can you wiggle the gantry or is both sides firm? When in the my early days...the laser head crashed that &^%$ rail so many times it was pathetic. Well, I finally fixed that problem. However, that crashing caused the Gantry to go out of square. Watchin this video..(bless your behind for that one) I see that is where I align it . But I can still move the right side somewhat....the left side is stable. Is there something else I should be doing? (My left and right is looking at this from the front of the machine.

What do you actually do to make the adjustment? My "button" side is much looser than the opposite side (left if facing front) TYIA
