I just HAVE to give a huge thanks to the YouTuber Olexiy Zhukov, the creator of this tutorial:
I don't think I'd have been able to figure out the intersection math without their tutorial! XD BIG help there!!

Also, I've seen a few more great tutorials on this topic since, like Brackeys' video:
And a video by a YouTuber called AE Tuts:

They're all GREAT!

This was a simple attempt at a sort of energy barrier/shield/force field material. Nothing too special.

Wow, that "ribbed glass" effect is so cool, how did you make this?

Thanks a lot for sharing the link of the tutorial. A nice addition to the force field would be a distortion effect, similar to those of hot gases. A while back I had a few ideas about how to achieve that, however they would only have worked from one perspective and wouldn't allow reflections. Since then, I am still facing the same problem. I believe you must access the rendering pipline and change the direction of light rays, when penetrating the force field.

Aww, one person didn't like it. Sad. I guess they were kind of person who didn't understand that this was the test results of hours of work from both modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, animating AND coding all at the same time. Oh well.
