Take me to church was a hit because Hoziers voice is hauntingly beautiful, the words are incredibly soul searching, making you think, the music is d4amatic, and the video matches everything making it all come together perfectly. It could be a song for a hit movie.

The song itself is literally just the demo he recorded in his parents attic. When he tried taking it to the studio they realised that after many takes, they couldnt replicate the same energy of the recording of that night. So they built around the demo and put sound to it.
