She loved Rafe more than Danny but I also feel she didn't love Rafe as much as he loved her. It's all a bit messed up but I do love the ending, I love how Rafe is a father figure to Danny's son that is a great way to show gratitude to his friend who saved his life at the cost of his own, because whatever said and done at the end of the day their friendship was greater than everything that happened between them. The movie is a great reminder that nobody is perfect and nothing is perfect we have to find it in ourselves to understand each other and forgive each other.

I feel for all of them honestly. Evelyn and Danny thought Rafe was dead so they sought comfort in each other. Personally I couldn’t go for my lover’s best friend. In this scene though, you can tell her heart will always belong with Rafe and it’s cause of the baby she’s choosing to stay with Danny.

This is the most romantic movie ever seen by me, I don't know you guys! So great actor's and so realistically scenery's! Tears in my eyes a few times... the only movie!

This proves Rafe is the one for her. Danny doesn’t seem to love her on more than a physical level, but Rafe’s feelings for her gave him the will to live when all seemed lost - THAT is love.

The ending while sad and awful does give peace and justice to Danny. He would have never been happy had he found out he was only the other option and she stayed with him out of obligation. At the same time, he was able to live on and have a legacy with his son and they could have him to remember Danny.

This reminds me of someone in my life. Honestly, watching this scene I can relate to this situation. It's very sad! I made a deal with God, I prayed for her to come into my life. I hope this movie can provide a learning lesson for me to relate to for the rest of my life.

My life is full of dramatic scenes that can allow me to cultivate how I feel. Internally this movie has allowed me to go back into the past and remember the things I been through with my best friend. Life is full of sudden experiences. I see life in my metaphorical eyes. I know she's out there in the world waiting for me to come by. It allowed me to realize myself as a person and what my traits are like. She's perfect the way she is. My best friend loves this movie as much as I do! Until to this day we're together modernizing our ways and perspectives is indeed powerful in it's own way.

This movie is ahead of it's time because even though it's timeless we can relate to Danny, Rafe and Evelyn's situation.

Ok let’s put the shoe on the other foot ladies – let’s say there were two women involved in the scenario who were best friends, one of them goes away and by tragic circumstance is presumed dead. The friend goes to comfort the boyfriend and they end up getting together. The first woman comes back (after defying even more odds just to make it home) expecting everything to pick up where they left off, but the guy tells her he slept with her best friend, has feelings for her too and intends to stay with her because she’s going to have his child. You’re telling me that if you were the first woman you’d just throw up your hands and say “welp that’s how life goes, I did bring this on myself with the choices I made – wish you all the best”, and not feel cheated or wronged by your “friend”? And you’re telling me you’re going to stay friends with that woman? Sure (eyeroll).
