Train Climbing Steep Grade With DPU Helper Pushing, Hidden Pedestrian Railroad Crossing, USA Trains!

Показать описание
Helper locomotive pushing heavy mixed freight up steep grade at top of hill. Listen to her climb the grade! There is a hidden pedestrian railroad crossing at the top of the grade that has been here since the 1940s. I caught a heavy mixed freight with steel coils and distributed power unit on the rear. Then a long double stack intermodal drops down the hill under me. This is an awesome hidden location that not many railfans know about. Homes and businesses are on both sides of the tracks and the pedestrian crossing is hidden in the trees. This is the Norfolk Southern main line from Chattanooga, Tennessee to Cincinnati, Ohio known as The Rathole Line. The city of Cincinnati owns it and the main road channel is 160.950 and end of train devices use 452.940. I filmed this on October 14, 2020. Thanks for watching!
Please thumbs up and watch another JawTooth video to help my channel.

Check out my steam train playlist for some really cool videos including the Big Boy! I also have other railroad videos of all types including short lines, street runners and cabooses in action. Please watch another video to help support my channel:

Very awesome Jaw. You can really tell when they are on those grades with the sounds of the engines pulling a lot of cars.

Love the view with the beginning of fall colors, this is a great spot to view trains, bring a chair and sandwich and sit by and enjoy the action!! This view is so pretty it looks a little like a toy train set, wow! That second loco was a bit of a screacher sound, thus freight is HUGH !! Jaw tooth when you say wait there's more, your not kidding!!has anyone been able to keep count of this train? I got lost after fifty?!! Awesome as always jaw tooth, thanks the thumbs up!!!

Thanks for sharing this. What an awesome location. Those steel coils on that first train - my buddy used to tell me they were "heavy metal bands", because I play guitar but am not particularly fond of heavy metal style music. Great memory!

A lot of rolled steel on that first train ..these boys really are hauling the freight.
Beautiful day .. lovely foliage ..serious freight.
This is still America doing business.
Awesome.
Someone somewhere is shipping sorting and despatching all these goods ... This is what makes the world go round
Those double decker containers made up a seriously business like train.
Wooha!
Man they are amazing...

The steelcoils in the first set are 22-27 metric tons each ( 22000-27000 kgs ) ! Some of the wagons had five ( ! ) of them onboard . Thats a heavy load !

Great video Jawtooth! I can never get enough of the Rat Hole line, it runs through Somerset Ky. Not far from where I live.
