The record indeed barely qualifies as a good test record, with obviously limited bandwidth, and an overall poor sound quality. There are some cymbals though, that come through much better with the M97.

Shure sounds slightly better. I suppose it's due to the eliptical stylus vs the conical of the Oyster.
